Well, here I am ready to begin yet another course on my path to reaching my goal of getting a Masters degree. Having gone through the course syllabus and the calendar of events for ED642 with Dr. Rivera and Joe brought back memories of having done the same thing two semesters ago for ED644 with Team MAGEC (Mar, Annette, Geri, Erik, and Christine). Although I miss having them around, I already feel comfortable being around just Joe and Dr. Rivera, and I look forward to sharing the information and knowledge that I will be acquiring in the next few months with them.
I'm excited to be taking this course simply because it deals with children's and young adult literature. As a teacher in the elementary level, I'm thrilled that what I will get out of this course will most definitely help me in addressing student literacy. The workload seems intense, but then, why wouldn't it be when there is just so much out there in this area of education? So, as I continue on this road to being a reading specialist, I will take the knowledge that I will gain from this course and put it in my "pot of educational resources" to tap on when the need arises.

I am really looking forward to this semester, and I agree with you, it does seem as though we have a lot of work cut out for us, especially me, as my background is mostly working with adults. I am definitely going to be learning a whole new world! I hope I can tap on you as one of my resources, as I feel you are more knowledgeable when it comes to children's literature!

DeleteI'm glad that you liked my website...it's actually really basic, but I must admit that I had a lot of fun doing it. It took a while, but it was worth it. I hope that you can use some of the resources on my site when you need to. :>)
